spacer

By LEO TUAZON

Couples now have another reason to take their romance to the Bay. "Romancing the Bay", a bridal and debut fair, will be held at the modern and spacious 1 Esplanade on February 10 and 11. With the theme "Affairs by the Bay – the Modern Filipino Way", this one-of-a-kind pre-Valentine offering is sure to warm up the cold weather.

The best in the wedding industry (caterers, photo-video specialists, designers, and more) will give guests an extra treat as they render their own interpretations of the perfect Filipiniana wedding and debut. Creations showcasing a marriage between native materials and the latest trends in design and numerous special events will be presented for the public’s pleasure. Hizon’s Catering will hold a free Grand Food Tasting, serving a generous spread of dishes from different cuisines enhanced to delight the Filipino palate Selections include Lengua Royale, Pork Oriental, Chicken Teriyaki, Panko Crusted Fish with tomato walnut salsa, a buffet of desserts (tira misu, assorted panna cottas, ube macapuno pie, halo-halo, and so on) and a towering 5-foot chocolate fondue fountain will satiate any sweet craving. Girlie Espinoza of Le Danz will present a modern choreography of the cotillion and the couple’s first dance to the tune of much-loved OPM hits. Talented designer Sammy Amante, Jr.’s bridal couture will be featured in a live mannequin show, a calesa (by Mervin Galang of Party Channel), and bridal limousine (by Robert Camba) parade. His designs—known for their simple elegance, intricate beadwork, modern cut, and stylish fit—will also grace the runway when the fair culminates in a fashion show. Each day will be filled with live musical performances and capped off with a fireworks display by Dragon Fireworks.

In addition, Banco De Oro and Equitable credit card holders are also in for a treat. Aside from free entrance, guests may use their credit cards to book suppliers at a zero percent installment scheme. Couples that book with a participating supplier also get a raffle stub and stand to win a beautiful pair of Celestial Diamond wedding rings. Entrance tickets are P 50 per person but guests can register online to get in free. Register at www.chu-u-yen.com or call the organizer at 0918.681.0600. Those who register will get a chance to pick a fortune cookie and take home a prize.
