Rep. Prospero "Butch" A. Pichay Jr. of Lakas-CMD led the batch of six senatorial bets for the May 14, 2007 polls who filed their certificates of candidacy at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Law Department in Intramuros, Manila, yesterday, bringing to 45 the total number of persons now officially running for senator.
More senatorial aspirants are expected to file their candidacies today, Sunday, and up to midnight tomorrow, Monday, the deadline for filing certificates of candidacy for the 12 Senate slots to be contested in the coming election.
