Who says living and breathing clean air inside our homes comes at the price of an arm and a leg? Certainly not the enterprising people at Panasonic – recently, they showed that clean indoor air could be enjoyed in every home without the prohibitive cost brought about by high-energy consumption.
Last February 9, 2007, in front of more than 200 dealers and guests at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Panasonic launched its full air conditioning line. Amidst the revelry and pageantry, the true stars of the night – the dealers – got a first-hand look at the entire line, bannered by the SAC (Split-Type AC) and the WAC (Window-Type AC).
During the launch, Panasonic unveiled the new Envio Robot. Envio – Environmental Innovation – is the latest weapon of Panasonic to fight the new war for cleaner indoor air. Its battle plan revolves around the simple strategy of eliminating dust and other air-borne allergens while substantially reducing high-energy usage. According to Mr. Rene Almeda, Panasonic Philippines (PPH) president, “Both the SAC and WAC units come equipped with the right weapons and tactics to do their jobs with the utmost efficiency.”
Another ace up the SAC’s sleeve is the Inverter Technology. This system regulates the voltage to save up to 50% energy and reduce electricity bills. “The system evaluates the air temperature of a room and provides just the needed amount of power to cool it,” Mr. Almeda states. “It’s 1.5 times faster than conventional air conditioners.” During operation, the Inverter Technology automatically adjusts the power to maintain constant comfort.
SAC units also bring its high-tech weaponry to the fore in the fight against air-borne pollutants. They come equipped with the E-Ion Air Purifying System with Patrol Sensor. This system cleans the air in four simple steps:
1. The Patrol Sensor monitors the air quality. Like a radar system, it scans the air and once it detects dust particles, it activates the air purifying function.
2. Then the E-Ion Generator sends the shock troops: three trillion e-ions to stick onto the dust particles.
3. Once negatively charged, the dust particles are quickly deactivated.
4. The positively charged E-Ion Filter then easily traps the deactivated dust particles.
For the WAC line, its primary weapon is the Super Alleru Buster Filter. This innovative filter forms a virtually impregnable first line of defense against harmful bacteria, allergens and microbes invading the air space of our homes. First, it attracts the allergens then traps them, thereby liberating your room from their harmful effects. The Super Alleru Buster Filter is so effective it has an unbelievably high capture rate of 99%, inactivating all allergens, viruses and microbes caught in its grasp.
“The WAC units also function with a high EER, meaning it gives off superior cooling at low energy usage, giving you more savings,” states Mr. Almeda. “In fact, research stats show that it’s EER is way higher than government regulations.” Just like an efficient, well-trained commando, the WAC does its job silently, with noise levels as low as 39 decibels.
