MANILA (AFP) - Philippine share prices closed 2.84 percent higher Thursday, buoyed by a rally overnight on Wall Street after the US Federal Reserve left interest rates on hold, dealers said.

P/$ rate closes at P48.41/$ 1
The peso rate closed higher at P48.41 to the US dollar yesterday at the Philippine Dealing System of the Bankers Association of the Philippines from P48.585 the previous day. The weighted average average rate appreciated to P48.441 from P48.594. Total volume amounted to $ 543.04 million.
