THE NOKIA E65
My novice's mind tells me it is an understatement to say "You'll be able to work at the airport or while stuck in a traffic jam and use that time instead of wasting it."

BLOG-O-RAMA
The invitation, posted on the official website, looked inviting enough: "Are you a Filipino with a blog worth noticing? Think you got what it takes to be called one of the Philippines' best bloggers?" Thus signaled the birth of the Philippine Blog Awards, the first fully organized body to recognize the grit and talent of the Filipino blogger whose number has been growing in years. At stake are awards for the following fields: technology, travel, entertainment, personal, home and living, socio-political, news and media, business/entrepreneur, sports and recreation, fashion and lifestyle, Best Photoblog and Podcast of the Year. Special awards are also at stake for the Bloggers' Choice, Best Blog Design, Best OFW Blog, Best Free Custom Theme, and Best Blog Plug-in/ Extension.

BROADBAND
When last I talked about my cellular phone, it was an old, five-year-old-or-more model that couldn’t take pictures, had a capacity of only thirty text messages, and its keypad numbers were mostly erased. Since then my sister came to my rescue with a newer model phone that has a 2.0 megapixel camera and can store a little over a hundred text messages.

GAMETIME
Microsoft Corp. announced the extension of the Xbox LIVE games and entertainment network to the Windows platform, bringing together the most popular online console game service with the most popular games platform in the world. Debuting on May 8, 2007, with the launch of the Windows Vista version of the Xbox blockbuster "Halo 2," Games for Windows - LIVE will connect Windows gamers to over six million gamers already in the Xbox LIVE community. Then, launching in June, "Shadowrun" will, for the first time, connect Windows gamers with Xbox 360 players in cross-platform matches using a single service. "UNO," releasing later in 2007, will also support cross-platform play between Windows and Xbox 360.

LU! BEAT
Without a doubt, 2006 was a successful year for the country’s leading online game publisher, Level Up! and its list of popular online games. And just when you thought last year’s success just couldn’t get any better, along comes a great honor given to three of the company’s biggest MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games). Ragnarok Online, Silk Road Online, and RF Online -- against a multitude of other great MMORPGs out there – stood out and were voted as the Favorite Games in the MMOSITE Reader’s Choice Best of 2006!

Live Preview shows a temporary formatting change before you commit to it. You can see what a new font or style would look like by hovering over the choice with the mouse. You can preview the changes any Gallery option will make before applying it. That means less going back and forth, applying changes and then trying to figure out how to undo them when they don't look right. The temporary formatting is removed when the mouse pointer is moved from the button. This allows users to have a preview of how the option would affect the appearance of the object, without actually applying it.

IT SHOPTALK
Whenever we hear the name PC Gilmore, we immediately think of the computer hub located at the corner of Aurora Boulevard and Gilmore Avenue. But we would like to think the other way and be specific on the shop itself. So we paid a visit at their branch in Greenhills to find what’s new and what’s the most in-demand in their store. We were able to have a brief chat with Dennis Landicho, branch manager of PC Gilmore.

REALITY BITES
One time, my friends and I engaged in a healthy discussion. The topic - which communication means is more economical? Making calls on a mobile phone or communicating by sending Short Messaging Service (SMS)?

Philippines made strides versus copyright piracy – IIPA
The International Intellectual Property Alliance (IIPA), a coalition of seven trade associations representing US copyright-based industries, recognized the “good work” by the Philippine government in the fight against piracy in its comment submitted to the United States Trade Representative (USTR) Special 301 Review. “Several optical disc plants were shut down (under the leadership of Optical Media Board Chairman Eduardo Manzano). In addition, the Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Senior Superintendent Noel delos Reyes has turned a corner for the better, taking actions on right holder requests and informing right holders of specific piracy issues,” the IIPA stated.

Olympus µ725SW
Even fashionistas would prefer a tough gadget that has a stylish design, and digital cameras are not excused. Clubbing and gimmicks are as rugged as outdoors activities like swimming, hiking, biking, or just plain backpack traveling in another country.

DIGITAL CITIZENS
If you think gaming consoles like Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii are machines that can be used just for gaming alone, you better think again.

JAVA CHAMPION'S CORNER
Now that I have revved up interest in Java (I hope), it is time to give you some pointers on where to learn Java outside of the classroom. Whilst you can get training from Sun Microsystems Philippines, there are other ways for you to learn Java. Here're some of them:

The Quick Access Toolbar is a customizable toolbar that contains a set of commands that are independent of the tabs that are displayed. OF MACS & TUX
I recently bought a new 17" 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac and like all new computers that I have bought recently, I nuke the hard drive and start installing everything from scratch. This way, I can get rid of the demo/trial software that are usually pre-installed in the computer. A clean install also means a more personalized and optimized operating system. The next thing is to download and install all the software updates. Depending on your internet connection, it will take you from an hour to half a day to get all the updates.
