Some 200 companies from various sectors of the tourism industry are expected to join the Tourism Jobs Fair (TJF) 2007 slated in Cebu International Convention Center on March 28 and 29.
Tourism Secretary Joseph Ace H. Durano said the companies were being registered for the TJF either by invitation or via online.
"These companies include airlines, shipping and cruise firms, hotels and resorts, restaurants, travel agencies, tour operators, retail and entertainment establishments, convention and exhibition organizers and venues, tourist transport and car rental firms, spas, manufacturers and exporters, overseas employment agencies, public transport operators, banking sector, schools and universities, local government units, national government offices, and goods and service suppliers such as airline caterers, laundry services, wholesalers, and accounting firms, among many others," Durano added.
The invited employers mail or fax their application forms to the TJF secretariat, which encodes the supplied information in the databank and notify them on the status of their application.
Each employer is also given a temporary log-in ID, password, and unique identification number (UIN), which he may opt to change upon receipt from the secretariat.
Other employers may register online at http://www.tourismjobs.ph by clicking the "Employers Registration" and entering their respective log-in IDs and passwords.
After choosing the appropriate industry sector and filling out all the fields in the application form, the employer clicks "Submit" and gets an automated response.
His application will be processed within two working days, after which he will be notified via e-mail whether his application is accepted or not.
Using the employer login ID and password, he can regularly update his company profile, list of vacancies, and other information anytime of the year.
However, only the employer’s list of job vacancies and corresponding qualification standards will be accessible to applicants online. The complete employer information will be made available to registered job applicants only during the TJF.
To register online, the applicant must go to www.tourismjobs.ph, key in his log-in ID and password, click "Jobseekers Registration," and choose whether he is a new graduate with no work experience, employed, or Others/ Unemployed or with Previous Work Experience.
