Pasay City’s reelectionist Mayor Wenceslao Trinidad and his partymates have increased their lead over their rivals as shown in recent survey results released by the Social Weather Stations (SWS).
Based on the survey, as of April 15 this year, 71.79 percent of Pasay residents said they will vote for Trinidad.
Only 407 or 23.88 percent of the 1,700 respondents interviewed said they would choose Rep. Consuelo Dy to be their new mayor.
Trinidad’s runningmate, Antonio Calixto, got 60.52 percent with 1,029 respondents saying they would vote for him.
Trinidad and Calixto are running under the banner of the Genuine Opposition.
The other vice mayoral candidate, Gregorio Alcera, got the nod of 589 or 34.64 percent of the respondents. Another candidate, Arvin Tolentino, got 71 points or 4.17 percent rating.
The opposition congressional candidate, Jose Antonio Roxas, is also ahead of his rivals with 641 or 37.70 percent of the respondents favoring him while Recardo Santos got 629 or 37 percent.
Allan Panaligan was the least favored congressional candidate, with only 389 points or 22.88 percent rating.
Trinidad earlier revealed that a demolition job is being undertaken against him by his political rivals.
Trinidad said the press release stating that he has the most number of graft cases "is a demolition job, smear campaign and evidently a part of the continuing oppression of the Kampi candidates in Pasay City."
