HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

Exploring a world of career opportunities with SSC–R Canlubang’s Career Expo ‘07
Firmly establishing its presence in the community that is dominated by industrial companies and other business locators, the San Sebastian College–Recoletos Canlubang Campus initiated a whole day orientation, a "come-on" activity that enabled about 350 students from different high schools, namely, College of St. Francis Assisi, Rizal Institute of Canlubang, Little Jesus Learning Center of Canlubang, Kapayapaan National High School, Sta. Cecilia Catholic School Foundation, Inc., and Kolehiyo de Canlubang trooping down for a career shopping of sorts.

Jose Rizal University names 2007 DBRT Professorial chair
Jose Rizal University, in partnership with Dr. Bienvinido R. Tantoco, Sr., co-founder of Rustan’s Department Store and present Chairman of the Board of the Rustan Group of Companies, awarded the 2007-2008 Dr. Bienvinido R. Tantoco, Sr. Professorial Chair in Marketing to President and CEO of Yehey! Donald Patrick Lim during the 2nd Awarding Ceremony of the DBRT Professorial Chair Program at the JRU Auditorium in Mandaluyong.

Young Gordon to represent RP in 2 global summits for young leaders
Due to outstanding academic achievements and exceptional leadership qualities, Amelia Jane Gordon, daughter of Olongapo City Mayor James "Bong" Gordon, Jr. and wife Anne, has been invited to represent the Philippines to two international programs for future young leaders.

SPED library wins with TRASH fund
The ‘Trash for the Library’ project was conceived in 2005 by grade five teacher Danilo B. Bambico, who volunteered as librarian after being "moved by children’s need for books." He credits the continuing success of the project from its first monthly sale of R3,500 onwards to supportive administration led by Principal Fi-An B. Siding, parents and students, who collect recyclables at home and bring them to school.

3rd SWEEP Innovation and Excellence Awards
Science and technology tends to multiply the existence of things around people. To an increasing extent, the inventions created by man through the utilization of technology even dictate the languages in which people speak and think. It is only up to them if they will use those languages or they will remain mute in the advances modern technology offers.

New UE president
Astanza from "Ester ng Silangan," a song dedicated to a leader, a song that welcomes the new light that will guide a school to success. A song that was especially composed for the new University of the East (UE) president. A song that describes a school’s aspiration which it hopes to achieve with the help of its new leader.
