Filipinos working in Taiwan can now call their loved ones back home via the Internet with the forthcoming launch of the SeichePhone which will initially be available in that country.
Aeonic Seiche, the company behind the SeichePhone, claims the product as the world’s first Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone.
Aeonic Seiche Chief Technology Officer Dr. Michael Chen, said the new SeichePhone utilizes VoIP technology that allows users to make voice calls using broadband Internet connection instead of a regular or analog phone line. The SeichePhone carries a standby time of 120 hours, enabling users to communicate with the world without the need for a cumbersome PC for as long as they are in a hot spot.
To facilitate the usage of the SeichePhone, Aeonic Seiche is also launching the SeicheHomeDirect, its new VoIP service platform. This allows subscribers to make unlimited calls to other subscribers on the same platform. Calls to land line and cellular phones are also available with small per minute charges.
"It is our pride to introduce SeichePhone, the world’s first VoIP phone. The SeichePhone presents an excellent communications tool especially for overseas Filipino workers who can always take advantage of our WiFi mobile IP technology to contact their families and friends in the Philippines," said Lincoln Chen, chief executive officer of Aeonic Seiche Hong Kong. "The SeichePhone and SeicheHomeDirect are in line with our continuing commitment to make our world a WiFi planet."
The Aeonic Seiche Group of Companies is a leading provider of wireless digital solutions for internet broadband and multi-media communications. With affiliates in Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Japan, and the Philippines, Aeonic Seiche combines the resources of its related entities to provide the most technologically-advanced and highest quality products and services.
Just recently, Aeonic Seiche launched the SeicheTunnel in Edsa, a breakthrough wireless fidelity service that makes mobile Internet connectivity along the country’s busiest highway possible. The SeicheTunnel is the initial step towards the company’s efforts to make Metro Manila the world’s first truly mobile WiFi city.
Initially, the SeichePhone will be offered at $ 200 per unit with access to the SeicheHomeDirect pegged at $ 20 per month.
Mr. Chen said the WiFi phone’s Taiwan launch will just be a start as Aeonic Seiche also looks forward to introducing the SeichePhone in Hong Kong, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, and the Philippines.
Definitely, the new SeichePhone presents OFWs with an innovative way to call home and keep in touch with their loved ones in the Philippines.
