More than 45 local and international speakers have been confirmed for Cebu ICT 2007 according to conference and exhibition chair Bonifacio Belen. Approximately 500 delegates and over 100 exhibitors are also expected to participate in the meeting, which takes place June 26-28 in Cebu. Approximately 15 percent of delegates will come from overseas, and about half of the speakers.
Cebu ICT 2007 is the second time the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has organized a major international ICT conference and exhibition in conjunction with its annual Cebu Business Month celebration. The last international meeting took place in 2005.
Confirmed speakers include McKinsey & Company president Christopher Beshouri, Korea IT International Cooperation Agency chief executive director Eun Jung Lee, Bloomberg columnist William Pesek, Jr., Partners Group vice president Kelvin Chan, SPi president and CEO Ernest Cu, Bigfoot Entertainment COO Matt Lubetich, Infoweapons founder and CTO Lawrence Hughes, and Indonesia's deputy minister of Communications and Information Sardjoeni Moedjiono.
International delegations and country pavilions representing Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia and other countries will also be a feature of the meeting, said Belen. "This year's conference theme is Pioneering Landmark ICT Collaboration in Asia. So the international component of the meeting is a major thrust. In fact, we will hold a summit of Asian ICT leaders on the second day of the conference to foster regional cooperation and collaboration," he explained.
Plenary sessions on the first day of the conference will take place at Shangri-La's Mactan Island Resort. Breakout sessions will take place June 27 at the Cebu International Conference Center (CICC). The exhibition and related activities, including a job fair, will take place June 26-28 at CICC.
