Welcome, His Excellency Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic ELECTED by the National Assembly of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) on June 8, 2006, Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh has been active in promoting stronger relations between their country and its neighbors in Southeast Asia.
New stepping stones to move us forward DISTINGUISHED Senators, Ladies and Gentlemen,
World Ocean Day: The source of all life on earth TO raise awareness about the immeasurable importance of our oceans and coasts, World Ocean Day is observed June 8 of each year. The day gives us all an opportunity to appreciate what the oceans mean to us, what they have to offer, and how we would like them to be generations from today.
We must do all to ensure stability EXCELLENCIES, my dear colleagues, Ladies and gentlemen:
A victory for pro-life advocates THERE is hope that the killing of unborn babies in the United States and Europe can be reduced in the coming years. The US Supreme Court recently issued a ruling upholding the first national ban on a specific abortion procedure since the landmark Roe v. Wade decision in 1973 which opened the gates for millions of abortions to be performed in the US over the last 35 years. The 5-4 ruling, which upheld the federal Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003, marks a significant shift away from the culture of death in American society. President George Bush was quick to praise the decision of the Supreme Court: "The Supreme Court’s decision is an affirmation of the progress we have made over the past six years in protecting human dignity and upholding the sanctity of life. We will continue to work for the day when every child is welcomed in life and protected in law." Whatever wrong decisions President Bush might have made in other major policy areas in the national life of the US, he will be favorably remembered for saving the lives of numerous babies who would have been murdered in partial-birth abortion procedures.
Business ‘buyouts’ and ‘takeovers’ THERE’s a stock market boom, unprecedented in two decades. Seasoned market players — they who devote almost full-time watching and monitoring the bullish boards — are, literally, making "a killing." But some tyros who are desirous to invest are just watching from the sidelines, many of them do not know how to take the initial steps.
Chinese perception II BECAUSE it is unknown, you cannot blame the big powers to be apprehensive about what influence China and India will have in the economics of the world in the future. India is more predictable than China since it is not one solid block that can act as one. China on the other hand although following capitalism is still following a dictatorship derived from communism that has been modified by Chinese ethic. China has had this history of swallowing up and digesting the external influences that have been imposed on her. As previously mentioned China has little or no motivation to spread communism in the world but will prefer to join the capitalistic rat race in which she is good. The ethics of Confucius and Buddha have ingrained in the Chinese people the virtues of hard work, frugal saving, and striving for excellence in business, cooperation and trust.
The question about David’s son Mark 12:35-37
The last guardian NOT long after the President in audience with the Pope vowed "action" against extrajudicial killings and involuntary disappearances of activists, farm workers, and journalists. Chief Justice Renato Puno also vowed to act on the same human rights violations through the vested powers of the Supreme Court.
Incoming 14th Congress PHILIPPINE democracy, albeit flawed, survives; is vibrant and resilient.
