Jericho returns to acting
spacer

After his ten-month acting hiatus, Jericho Rosales is now busy taping for his new soap series on ABS-CBN, "Pangarap na Bituin," where he will star with three leading ladies Sarah Geronimo, Rica Peralejo and Maja Salvador.

The soap series will air in the network’s primetime block, where Jericho earlier ruled with widely followed teleseryes like "Pangako sa ‘Yo," "Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas" and last year’s remake of the action-fantasy-drama, "Panday."

Last month, Echo earned raves for his amusing gender-bending role in ABS-CBN’s "Love Spell." He starred in the month-long episode, "Elay Enchanted," with Iya Villania as his love interest. It was a different acting assignment for Echo and what’s admirable about him is that he is not afraid to try on new challenges in his career.

Even if he’s back to the drama grind, Echo still finds time for his singing career and accommodates requests to perform in music bars. He continues to sing with his band, Jeans, which has been promoting their debut album, "Loose Fit," under EMI Philippines.

The 14-track album has been launched in Malaysia and will likewise be released in Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia. The group is now promoting their second single, "Tuwing Nakikita Ka," with a music video which Echo directed.

Jeans is now gathering materials for their second album that will contain classic OPM revivals. On July 6, 7 and 21, Jeans will take centerstage at Ratsky’s in Malate. The group will also perform at Blue Wave Marquinton in Sumulong Highway, Marikina on July 29.

On July 4, Echo and his real-life girlfriend Heart Evangelista, will join Jeans in a live guest appearance at Cadiz City, Negros Occidental. Both are being managed by Genesis Entertainment.

On July 14, Echo joins Sarah Geronimo onstage in the latter’s major concert, "In Motion," at the Araneta Coliseum. Also guesting are Gary Valenciano, Sam Milby, Mark Bautista, John Prats, Louie Ocampo and Ai-Ai de las Alas.

Echo is also invited as guest performer in the T’nalak Festival at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center on July 16.

National Radio Survey now available

Agencies, buyers and other media-related organizations can now utilize the National Radio Survey (NRS), the first, only, and most comprehensive radio survey in the Philippines. The survey covers radio listenership results from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. It covers over 900 radio stations in the country with a total of 8,000 respondents.

Other available radio surveys only provide information for select key areas like Mega Manila, Dagupan, Baguio, Cebu and Davao. The results are extremely geographically limited and don’t provide an accurate picture of radio listening habits and station ratings.

The NRS is superior in methodology and scope. Rating estimates are based on areas covered by radio station sigal. Accurate ratings per broadcast network (i.e. ABS-CBN, MBC, RMN) are also provided unlike other radio surveys that merely indicate station ratings.

Available exclusively by subscription, NRS data is conveniently delivered via an Internet software called RadioView. It is available to subscribers anytime, anywhere. Users simply input search criteria like demographic info — gender, socio-economic class – and the appropriate results are shown.

NRS results are most useful in media planning and marketing. For example advertising agencies can use the comprehensive data when they need to prepare radio plans for their clients.

Advertisers can use this data in choosing stations that would air their commercial and plugs. They can direct their radio advertising budgets to stations that best serve their target market.

Radio stations and production companies can also utilize the information for their program plan.

NRS is provided by Geovisual Solutions Inc., with TNS Philippines as the field survey provider. For more information, call (02) 886-4180 or visit their website, www.radioview.net.

Anne Curtis lends face to Freego

It wasn’t only Anne’s Curtis that caught the attention of people who patiently waited at the Freego launch at the SM Mall of Asia recently. The crowd was also interested with how Anne would strut the catwalk donning a piece of upper garment and body paint. Anne did not disappoint the people; she came out with sexy Freego jeans and all painted.

Freego jeans unveiled its new line of metallic collection in an entertainment fashion gallery with human canvasses in "Art Comes To Life," a show that also introduced the priced ABS-CBN actress as the new Freego: That sexy Thing endorser.

The event, hosted by Love Radio’s Nicole Hiyala, was also rocked by Shamrock and new band Mirahel.

"Art Comes to Life," the Freego show was also made possible through sponsors GSM Blue and SM Mall of Asia.
