The 4th National Bonsai Open Competition and Exhibition will be held on October 12 to 21 at the Gateway Mall and Coliseum Parking Lot at the Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City.
Elected overall chairman of the show is Mike Morden, president of the Pangasinan Bonsai Society. The details of the show were recently finalized by the new board of directors of the Philippine Bonsai Society, Inc. (PBSI).
The exhibition of trees and commercial booths will be at the Coliseum Parking Lot while the opening ceremonies, bonsai workshop, seminars, Bonsai Challenge and other indoor activities will be at the Activity Center, ground floor of Gatreway Mall.
Besides the exhibit of bonsai for competition, there will be a commercial section where the buying public can purchase bonsai and bonsai materials, tools, pots, wire and other requirements. Those interested in commercial booth can contact Anthony Arbias at 0919-609-6300.
Reelected president is Bobby Gopiao. The other officers are Mike Morden, vice president; Ma. Fatima Yumie Gupit, correspondence secretary; Dr. Romeo "Jun" Balderrama, recording secretary; Teddy Lim, treasurer. The remaining four directors are Dr. Emerito "Emer" Cruz, president of the Kapisanan ng Mga Pinoy sa Sining Bonsai; Engr. Joel Embuscado, president of the Nueva Ecija Bonsai Society, Arch. Augusto "Aug" Rustia and Angel "Ogi" Uyehara.
