APC-MGE, a global leader in critical power and cooling services, expects double digit growth in the Philippine market for 2007, newly appointed APC-MGE Philippines Country Manager Didier Chalumeau told reporters yesterday.
This early, the company’s growth in the local market is "matching expectations," he added though he declined to cite any figures.
While the company caters to client needs from the desktop to the data center and factory floor, household personal computers and the like, account for the bulk of its market, or 60 percent. Worldwide, its small systems sales totalled billion last year.
Large systems – such as those for data centers, enterprise networking and telecommunications – account for the balance, or 40 per cent.
Still, "Our business is spread across the sectors. We are focusing on the full range, both the small and the large systems, for the Philippine market, Chalumeau explained.
APC-MGE’s Philippine clients cover those in banking and finance, telecommunication, Information Communication Technology, transport, government, manufacturing, electronics and semiconductors, oil and gas, utilities, healthcare, education, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, media and malls.
"Our long-term goal is to be the segment share leader in each category and be the employer of choice in this country," he revealed.
APC-MGE was formed early this year when Schneider Electric acquired APC and combined its market leadership with that of MGE UPS Systems.
MGE, which has been operating in the Philippines since 1987, is a leading UPS vendor preferred by electrical customers. APC, which has been in the country since 1998, is a preferred vendor for ICT clients.
Last year, APC-MGE registered $ 3-billion sales worldwide while Schneider posted $ 18 billion. The latter is the global leader in electrical distribution and the second biggest in automation control.
