A new section of the Manila Bulletin, the Shipping Bulletin, will start on Sunday, August 26, 2007.
It will carry daily reports on developments in shipping by air, sea, and land here and abroad, including the movement of cargo and ship-building, a growing industry in the country.
The Manila Bulletin started as a shipping publication, the first issue coming out on February 2, 1900, and, except during the Japanese Occupation, continues to this day as the oldest newspaper in the country.
The new Shipping Bulletin thus goes back to the roots of the Manila Bulletin, the Nation’s Leading Newspaper.
