SIX CLASSY 2-year-olds from the stable of businessman-sportsman Hermie Esguerra are out to stamp their class tomorrow as they head the chase for the opening legs of the 2007 Philracom Juvenile Colts and Juvenile Fillies Stakes Series at the Santa Ana Park.
Led by the formidable trio of Tabako, He’s The Man and Capretiosa, winners all of the Philracom 2YO Stakes Series from May to June this year, the powerhouse stablemates are primed for another sweep of the rich series that offers P1.5 million each for the two featured races.
Quick-striding He’s The Man and big finishing Tabako banner the field in the 1st leg of the Juvenile Colts Stakes, a 1,450-meter contest involving four other entries including Herma Farm’s entry Massachusettes, Bobby Yutadco’s Speed Almighty, Bert Calaquian’s Prime Zone and Francis Trillana’s Pandemonium.
He’s The Man and Tabako, will be ridden by jockey Jesse Guce and Patricio Dilema, respectively. All six entries will carry a set handicap weight of 54 kgs. for the journey.
Meanwhile, Capretiosa, which scored a stunning wire-to-wire victory against Tabako and He’s The Man in the third Philracom 2YO Stakes last month sets out as the overwhelming favorite in the 1st leg of the Juvenile Fillies Stakes.
The classy filly by Account of Grace (USA) out of Tumataginting will again be skippered by jockey John Paul Guce for the 1,450-meter stakes and will run as coupled entry to promising newcomer Indelible Ink, with top jockey Patricio Dilema on board.
