Reality Bites: I am (for) SAM... Remember the 2001 Sean Peen movie "I am SAM" where he played a mentally retarded man who fought for the custody of his 7-year-old daughter (Dakota Fanning), and in the process teaches his lawyer (Michelle Pfeiffer) the value of love and family. My article has nothing to do with being retarted, but more about the fact that SAM cannot care for her daughter because of his condition but he actually can. My story is the opposite - an organization pretending to care but it has another agenda under its sleeves.
A Wireless Adventure with the N95 Being one of the ten consumers chosen to participate in Nokia’s Soul of Manila Wireless Adventure Race was a new experience. I was surprised when I got a confirmation from Nokia that I got qualified to join the race. At first, I thought that the race would be a physical and tiring one but not as how we expected it.
Watching IT: For quite a long time already, some concerned parties have been crying out loud that movies, especially Hollywood movies, are causing mental and psychological harm to moviegoers. And I am not talking about those who are protesting what they perceive as a perpetuation of American “imperialism” through those box-office hits, which are now some of the United States’ biggest exports. These people claim that American motion pictures are damaging local cultural and moral values, and putting in their stead “corrupt” and “immoral” American values.

TECHIE MOMMY TALKS It’s true what people say that high quality educational software programs can be valuable tools for students starting at the elementary school level, and perhaps even as early as the preschool period. But does spending time at the computer constitute a beneficial learning experience for infants and toddlers?

Having Fun with I.T. Some wants to share the movies they've watched, favorite dining places, favorite drinks, favorite music, and more. It's also exciting to share with people especially your friends the books that you read. You can now do this online - thanks to GoodReads.com (http://www.goodreads.com/)
Techie Pen Sundays in my family have always been reserved for get-togethers over lunch, which consist mostly of lots of food that get totally wiped out five minutes after saying grace, tons of laughter at the expense of one or each other, and loads of multiple conversations with every brother, sister, husband, wife, in-law, cousin, nephew, niece, uncle, aunt, and parent.
Blog-O-Rama Times are getting so technologically advanced that it is no longer a big deal if children as young as six or seven years old know what there is to know about texting, online games, the internet and opening a Friendster account. Aside from the fact that computer subjects are taught in school, it is perhaps the easy accessibility of these things which makes our young ones adept with technology at an early age. Desktops and laptops are as common as TVs and microwaves in most homes; hence, it is no longer a wonder if Princess or Junior knows stuff which would have been unthinkable in Mom or Dad’s generation, such as building websites.
Solio If there are hybrid cars, why not hybrid chargers? There are actually more people who use mobile devices (like mobile phones, portable multimedia players and GPS devices) than those who have cars, which actually comprise a huge percentage of electricity consumers.

Digital Citizens: Cool Tech While most of us computer users are more concern about speed and storage capacity, computer and chip manufacturers are more concerned on other aspects - HEAT. In computers and electronics, power equals heat, and finding ways to manage the heat generated in more powerful laptops and handheld computers is always a challenge.
Of Macs & Tux Why is it that when your computer gives you the dreaded Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), you just shrug it off and simply reboot your computer? Why is it that when a document from a new version of Microsoft Office cannot be opened using your old version, it is ok? Why is it that when you get infected by a virus or a trojan or a worm, you just charge it to experience? Why are you so forgiving of a platform that gives you all of these issues - are you a masochist? These are the same reasons why I dumped Windows in favor of Linux and Mac OS X (more of Mac OS X, actually).
TECHIE MOMMY TALKS THE EFFECTS OF A WORKING MOTHER (pros and cons?)
Watching IT: The quantum computer might still be half-way from the realm of vapor ware and imagination, and yet scientists have been coming up with schemes and proposing technologies envisioned to make it even faster than other scientists’ previous imaginings. Two scientists, for example, have put forward a scheme that uses light pulses to “rotate electron spins, which serve as quantum bits.”
