Crispina Martinez-Belen

Andrea del Rosario, leading lady of the movie "One Percent Full," revealed how she was chosen for her role.

Andrea del Rosario and Ronnie Ricketts

"I was auditioned by Director Burton Richardson. And I believe I was chosen because of my Filipina look. And I also learned later that my role was that of woman residing in a depressed area.

"The movie is in English dialogue - my first time. Direk Burton, who is playing the lead role with Ronnie Ricketts, had a kissing scene with me, and to my surprise, he kissed me in my forehead. But we had a re-take and his lips touched mine."

And what kind of a director/artist is Burton Richardson?

Andrea described him as "sobrang bait, professional and puro puri."

Andrea is presently engaged with a French business man, Eric Noyel. She revealed that her mother had been invited to France by Eric where she met Eric’s parents.

The relationship, so far, is going steady and strong, according to Andrea.

Director Burton Richardson

Burton Richardson is a martial arts expert, and he has always been invited around the world to teach martial arts. In Hollywood, he has done several action movies where he is either the director, producer or actor.

He met Ronnie Ricketts in Los Angeles and it was that meeting that "One Percent Full" had its inception.

Burton expertise brought him to French territory near South Africa, the Re-Union island where his wife-to-be was working as TV host.

That meeting bloomed into a romance, and they got married nine years ago. They are stilt childness. Burton said it was because they travel a lot.

Both Sarah and Burton are vegetarians. Sarah is of Indian parentage, but she was born in Re-Union island, a French territory. Sarah is therefore a French citizen. She plays a cameo role in "One Percent Full."

A new royalty collection agency organized locally

The Philippine Music Public Performance Society, Inc. has been organized with the function to collect royalties from establishments that use the society’s recordings, such broadcasting, communication to the public and public performances.

The Society is distinct from FILSCAP which collects public performances royalties on behalf of composers, regardless of the record company or artist that recorded the particular version of a song. FILSCAP collects from concert promoters or producers of live shows where music is played live.

The Philippine Music Public Performance Society, Inc. will collect only from producers of live shows that use recorded music or recorded minus-ones. This Society will be collecting separately from FILSCAP. Broadcasters and other clients will have to have separate negotiations with FILSCAP and PMPPSI.

PMPPSI is a new association composed of record producers. The major local and international record companies are represented in PMPPSI.

The artists, according to PMPPSI will have shares from the collections based on their agreements, or in the absence of one, the record producers will give 50% of the collections to the artists.

The basis for the collection is Republic Act No. 8293 (Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines), Section 209 which provides:

"Communication to the Public - If a sound recording published for commercial purposes, or a reproduction of such sound recording, is used directly for broadcasting or for other communication to the public, or is publicly performed with the intention of making and enhancing profit, a single equitable remuneration for the performer or performers, and the producer of the sound recording shall be paid by the user to both the performers and the producer, who, in the absence of any agreement shall share equally."
