Students from more than 200 high schools from all over Metro Manila, and even some from the provinces and such places as Angeles City in Pampanga, flocked to the PTTC in Roxas Blvd. to catch the action as some of the best colleges and universities in the Philippines cheered, danced, drew and wowed them with the best skills their students got – and some serious career counseling.

The exhibition hall was jam-packed with students signing up and finding out about different institutions, getting a feel of things as they wandered around the hall, fliers, brochures and notes in hand. Up on the second floor the seminars were being held every hour to interested students, led by professional speakers from each school’s faculty. Everyone learned a great deal from the speakers about future career paths and college offerings available for students. Asia Profiles attended to do free career aptitude testing for students to see what careers they would be suited for.

As seminars and the exhibit went on, colleges got the chance to showcase their students’ talents at the main hall for all to see. Cheer-dancing, acting, street dancing, ballet, singing and quick sketching displays were all the rage. Students crowded the hallways watching the spectacular performances of these talented students, and this helped to make their decisions easier—or maybe even harder! Great schools with great talents; where to go and which to choose? This was the question ringing in the students’ minds as they went and explored each booth and attended the seminars, trying to figure out where is the best place to be.

Many top schools here and abroad took part in the fair to meet potential students. The line-up was extensive: University of the Philippines, De La Salle University, Mapua Institute of Technology, Centro Escolar University, Far Eastern University, University of Santo Tomas and University of the East, Lyceum, Assumption College, Miriam College, San Beda, PWU and others. From abroad: At-Sunrice Culinary Academy of Singapore was there, along with Le Cordon Bleu, International College of Hotel Management in Australia and Southern New Hampshire University, a top business school from the USA. For those looking for specialty schools, even they make their presence known as Ricky Reyes Institute, Philippine School of Interior Design, Center for Culinary Arts, Manila, Fashion Design Institute and many others attended this event.

Students, exhibitors and organizers alike all had fun during the event. There was no time to stop until the very end. All throughout the day students were walking and talking, exploring all the options presented to them. Some schools even came back for more on the second day! There was not time to rest for anyone; there was just so much to see and to learn in one day. Though tiring, it was an enjoyable for all. Inter-Ed’s 19th Career and Guidance Counseling was a huge success, drawing students from all over to find the colleges and universities of their choices to help them decide on their future. An eventful two days and a pleasant and memorable experience for everybody involved.

Inter-Ed is already organizing the 20th Career and Guidance Fair for September next year and is taking space reservations from colleges and universities who want to participate, and allocating time slots for high schools who want to include this event in their field trip timetable!
