If you want to landscape your own garden or arrange flowers for All Soul’s Day, take a seminarworkshop offered by Ikebana professor Serapion Metilla.
It’s also a chance to learn new skills for employment here or abroad.
A practical guide to landscaping is set on Oct. 20 & 21. It will cover hard-scape and soft-scape materials, plants for certain designs and macro-climate of the area, designing, planning and estimating, design faults and hazards, zen garden philosophy, etc.

All materials will be provided for the hands-on on miniature tray landscape.
Flower arrangements for all occasions will be on Oct. 24 to 28. The five-day course covers the following: Day 1 – classical styles of Ikebana with Moribana and Shoka and sourcing of materials; Day 2 – Western styles with techniques of lengthening the vase life of cut–flowers;
Day 3 – Western styles on crescent shape, Hogarth line and flower shop operation; Day 4 – free styles, buffet or party centerpieces, garland or swag and weaving of birds, puso and grasshoppers out of coconut leaves as accessories; Day 5 – corsage making, bridal bouquet making, other wedding ensembles.
Advance registration is required. Workshops will be held from 1 to 6 p.m., at Mett’s Plant Arts at King Loius Garden Center, Manila Seedling Bank cor. EDSA and Quezon Ave., QC.
