Italian-style gardens at McKinley Hill

Italian-style gardens will blossom in full at McKinley Hill Tuscany Private Estate, a picturesque village conceptualized by Megaworld, a residential condominium and business process outsourcing (BPO) office buildings developer.

Located along Upper McKinley Road in Fort Bonifacio, the gated community will be composed of seven residential clusters.

Taking inspiration from the terrain of Tuscany, considered Italy’s most beautiful region with its fertile orchards and vineyards, Tuscany Private Estate will match the terrain of McKinley Hill.

"Tuscany Private Estate has an overall landscape design intended to enhance the view of McKinley Hill and its surroundings," said Megaworld FVP Noli Hernandez. "Our main objective is to make the vistas a part of the landscape in a Tuscan garden setting, thus promoting the goal of an enhanced quality of life."

The Estate’s Parco Bello will have courtyards, lagoon, and greenery.

"Water from a pool, fountain, or pond raises the cooling factor, helping make the garden a relaxing place for picnics, parties, or dinners," Hernandez said. "An Italian garden, specifically a Tuscan Garden, is a place where beauty, food, friends, and family come together to share a meal or find peace after a busy day."

Twin large fountains at the entry court will welcome residents at the steps of the McKinley Hill Tuscany Private Estate grand lobby. The fountain design is inspired by the drinking area of horses in a Tuscan farmhouse. Geometric-shaped hedges will lend a formal air to the lobby entrance.

The Estate’s seven clusters will have an elegant courtyard whose solitary fountain and brick or gravel pathways will be ideal for private meditation. The atmosphere will be perfumed by local lemon trees in clay pots, roses, climbing bougainvilleas, and even grapes.

The project’s swimming pool is tucked out of sight behind clusters of foliage. To blend into its setting, the pool edge will be colored a simple earth tone and level with the surrounding landscape.

For other relaxation activities for the entire family, an outdoor fitness station at Isla Toscana will be situated beside the playground.

"We are blending Mediterranean and local vegetation by planting topiaries, Indian trees, and bougainvilleas, as well as olives, cypress, peppers, and herbs," said Hernandez. "Native citrus and roses will enrich the colors. As favored in Tuscan gardens since the Roman times, we are using sculptures of animal heads for water features. Mythological creatures, stone masks, and sundials will be good focal points."

The designs of Florence, the fountain of the Renaissance, will be engraved in Tuscany Private Estate’s arches, stone decor, lively palette, and wrought-iron grillwork.

World-class amenities match the neo-classical gardens and architecture. A tan is achievable at the sunbathing lounge. Italian-style tailoring can be purchased at the boutiques. Fresh pizzas and pastas will be served at a streetscape of specialty stores and restaurants modeled after trattorias and pizzerias.

Like Italy itself, every residence at McKinley Hill Tuscany Private Estate will combine the rustic and the current. Each villa-style unit will come in executive studio or suite that has one to three bedrooms plus the conveniences of modern living. Wide windows and balconies will give a panoramic view of lush greens.

Outside the Estate, all modern comforts are easily accessible. Cafés and shops are located at the McKinley Hill town center. Get to Makati and Ortigas easily through EDSA Kalayaan flyover and C-5 Road.
