LAS VEGAS — Apart from the Philippines, Mexico and the US, four other countries dispatched TV coverage teams for Saturday night’s fistic fury here at the Mandalay Bay, promoter Bob Arum told the media congregation.
GMA Channel 7 in partnership with Solar Sports, will bring the action to the Philippines, while TV Azteca will telecast it to Mexico and HBO, through Pay-Per-View, to US households beginning at 6 p.m. at .95.
England, Argentina, France and even China have media personnel here to cover the proceedings.
"I was told that the fight will be shown to 40 or more countries," said publicist Fred Sternburg, one of several other specialists whose services were tapped by Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions.
Aside from GMA’s delayed coverage on free TV, the fight will also be shown as it happens on movie theaters across the Philippines at R400 to R600 per entry. —Nick GIONGCO
