LAS VEGAS — Two boxing experts swore on Friday that Manny Pacquiao will have no problems dealing with Marco Antonio Barrera when they collide at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
The Ring editor-in-chief Nigel Collins and renowned Mexican boxing manager Rafael Mendoza believe Pacquiao will beat Barrera again without working too much of a sweat.
"There’s an old saying that most great fighters have one more great fight left in them but I don’t think it’s going to be enough. If you look at their careers, Manny has gotten better and Barrera has not. In fact, he’s gone back a little bit," said Collins.
Pacquiao scored a sensational 11th round knockout win over Barrera almost four years ago in Texas and Collins is certain the 33-year-old Mexican is again destined to lose this one.
"With a great fighter like Barrera, anything is possible but to be honest, Manny is going to stop him again. It seems to me that you have a great fighter who’s on the way down and a great fighter who maybe not even reached his peak yet and Barrera with his pride and his skill, he will give everything he has but I just don’t think it’s going to be enough. Mother nature is against him," added Collins, who visited Manila some four years ago when he awarded The Ring championship belt to Pacquiao in lavish rites.
