As the pioneer of xerography, Xerox adapted its copier technology and added a scanner function to create the prototype of this groundbreaking product. First introduced in 1977, the Xerox 9700 was the first printer to allow the simultaneous production of computer-generated text, business forms, as well as a variety of graphics using laser technology.

As part of the 30th anniversary campaign here in the country, Fuji Xerox Printers mounted the Welcome to My World Exhibit held recently at the Ayala Trinoma Mall in Quezon City The interactive exhibit featured a retrospective of the company’s milestones beginning with its invention of the laser printer in 1977 and its succeeding technological developments from the 70s to the 21st century, as well as a peek at what the future holds.

The Fuji Xerox’s heritage for technological innovation has produced, aside from the first laser printer, Ethernet, the world’s first local area network (LAN) for connecting workstations, printers and other office equipment; Centerware, a Xerox/Fuji Xerox proprietary software that enable document center systems to perform multiple functions simultaneously; and the industry’s first single pass color laser printer Phaser 1235, which was four times faster than traditional color laser printers.
