Accenture’s Working Moms Organization (AWMO) has established a Daycare facility to help employees with young children juggle work and parental duties.
The Accenture Child Care Center (ACCC) was recently inaugurated at the fifth floor of Robinson’s Cybergate Tower 2. Enrollment in the daycare is open to children of employees, 5 years old and below.
AWMO has partnered with Little Dipper Learning Center to run the daily operations of the facility. It also launched an online registration system that accepts enrollees on a first-come, first-served basis. Mothers can choose to enroll their kids to a half-day session or a whole day session for a reasonable fee. Each session is packed with different learning activities based on the children’s age group level.
"The launch of the Accenture Child Care Center enhances the company’s reputation as a workplace of choice, especially for the many working mothers in the company," said Senior Executive Rema Francia-de Luna, and ACCC project lead Mai de Guzman of HR Employee Engagement.
Launched in June 2006, the club is the brainchild of Francia-de Luna and HR Employee Engagement lead Irva Monica Cruz. Both were part of the core team that saw the growing need to help working moms balance their professional and personal lives. The organization is now one of the company’s biggest clubs with 527 members as of October 2007.
Other projects of the AWMO are the Diana rooms (nursing rooms), regular Mommy Talk sessions and educational sessions on marriage, motherhood, parenting and work.
