A Taste of Chinese Food

A restaurant is a fantasy— a kind of living fantasy in which diners are the most important members of the cast" - Warner LeRoy, founder of Maxwell’s Plum Restaurant.

Filipinos’ penchant for eating is best manifested in the myriad of restaurants that have sprouted on every side of the Metro. However, with the mélange of delectable Hong-Kong and Cantonese dishes to choose from, Chinese cuisine has always been a primary favorite. Chinese food can be found in almost every nook and cranny, from cheap siopao round the corner to expensive Shark’s fin in five-star hotels.

With this in mind, competition can be stiff. And at times, taste just isn’t enough, and it can all boil down to simply taking care of your diners.

One such place is the South Peak Chinese Cuisine restaurant. The restaurant prides itself in giving their patrons what they need, want, and more.

Located along EDSA in Pasay City, beside the Philtranco terminal, the South Peak Chinese Cuisine is a modest restaurant but prides itself with having the widest set of choices on the menu including very affordable meals for everyone.

"We have a small place for dining but we are prepared for big catering, bulk orders, and delivery services, and we will bring the food of their choice right at their doorstep," says Samuel Dy, manager and owner of South Peak Chinese Cuisine restaurant.

With the contemporary Chinese ambiance of the restaurant, one finds solace and the opportunity to savor the great cooking style of South Peak amidst the bustling city. With two function rooms, complete with entertainment features, a group of people can have fun or have a memorable night out while enjoying hundreds of superb Chinese dishes.

South Peak’s Chinese cuisine features a great deal of Hong-Kong style cooking with live seafood (King Fisher, Crabs, Lapu-Lapu, Squid, Prawns, and Shrimps), Hot Pots, beef and pork, soups, sizzling platters, vegetable and bean curd, noodles, and Yang Chow Rice; not to mention their own preparations of pigeon, duck, and chicken.

"Many people think that South Peak is a very expensive restaurant but little do they know that we are a lot cheaper than many fast food restaurants because here we offer budget meals for the students. Our ingredients are also fresh and healthy," says Dy.

Dy also noted that the restaurant is known by its in-house preparation of Chinese dishes such as the Three Cups of Chicken and Spinach Soup. Also highly recommended are their tasty Deep Fried Spareribs with Spicy Salt, Mixed Seafoods, and Yang Chow Fried Rice. "Ninety eight percent of our customers are satisfied with our best-seller dishes; they even try to call us from their offices to order. Our success really relies on word-of-mouth from our loyal patrons."

Since its inception in 2005, South Peak reinvented itself into a place where contemporary customers will ultimately relish not just the food but the new Chinese twist, packed with quality and taste that splendidly serves the Chinese food-loving public.

"Lovers of Chinese food now have a reason to frolic with South Peak’s specialties because we have the best chefs here and we offer free delivery services to our customers with a minimum of ten packs. And if they want something new on their special occasion, we also have catering services for birthdays, anniversaries, baptisms, and graduations," Dy concludes.
