The youth-initiated Filipino Pride campaign, Yabang Pinoy, which supports Filipino talent and entrepreneurship, is holding a night market on December 13 to 15, from 5 pm to 10 pm, at the Ayala Park Tent (in front of 6750 and the Makati Shangri-La Hotel).
The group is encouraging Filipino businesses and enterprises selling proudly Pinoy-made products to join the bazaar, which will also include activities such as performances from the poets, actors and musicians of Bitaw, a group which performs everything from improve acting and singing to comedic skits and spoken word performances.
Conscious patronage of Filipino products and enterprises, Yabang Pinoy believes, will create better economic opportunities for our work force as well as support the country’s economic cycle, threatened by competition from foreign-made products.
“We can complain about the many problems that our country has. What is in our power to change but our mindset? Every peso that we spend to support Filipino products and talents helps create employment and contributes to the economy. We’d like to change every Filipino’s mindset into a positive buying habit for Filipino products and talents. Even if we have to do it one Filipino at a time, we’ll do it”, says Yabang Pinoy volunteers.
