The call center agent (CCA) may find his career intensely gratifying.
An entry level agent can earn a lot more and can be promoted faster than other level employees from another field.
However, call center work can be far more stressful than other day job. Aside from the fact that agents work on graveyard shifts and national holidays, the call center agent has to deal with clients of different cultures and a possibly difficult personality.
But here’s good news for all aspiring call center agents. MFI Technological Institute (formerly Meralco Foundation Institute) is offering the Finishing Course for Call Center Agents (FCCA).
This course is a 100-hour intensive training that prepares participants for a call center career by helping" them improve their communication and customer service skills required in the industry as well as teaching them how to cope with a stressful work life. Aside from honing one’s grammar, FCCA trains its students on how to use the English language in a manner that Americans can understand with the, proper use of American idiomatic expressions, brevity, and speaking with a Middle American accent. FCCA will train students on how to deal with general type of call flows and also teaches them how to properly balance their work life.
Unlike other industries, the call center industry does not discriminate against age, gender or fitness and will employ anyone who is qualified. A call center career can also lead to possible travel since employers would send people abroad for training.
The FCCA at MFI is conducted Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the school’s campus on Ortigas Avenue (beside the Medical City Hospital) in Pasig.
Participants are assured of a 100-hour intensive workshop that will guarantee competitive advantage in the call center industry.
FCCA is also available through the PGMA Training for Work Scholarship Program. To qualify, visit MF Technological Institute and take the Pro-speak exam on MFI Building at Ortigas Avenue or www.mfi.org.ph.
