SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – President Arroyo will lead the nation today in celebrating the 111th anniversary of the martyrdom of the country’s national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, whose death on Dec. 30, 1896 precipitated the Philippine Revolution and the country’s eventual independence from Spain two years later in 1898.
