GENERAL SANTOS CITY -- Two persons were killed and an anti-drug agent was wounded in a gun attack last Tuesday night in an outskirt village of this city, police said.

Killed in the shooting were Mayflor Laberoda, 29, of Purok Pearly Shell, Barangay Bula, this city; and Arnel Senosa, 46, of Mabuhay Road, Barangay City Heights, this city.

Wounded was Police Officer 3 Oriover ‘Bobby’ Quangco, an agent of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). He resides at Labos, Barangay Fatima, a western village some 15-kilometres from downtown here.

Chief Supt. Felizardo Serapio Jr., Central Mindanao police chief, quoting a report of the PDEA regional office headed by Senior Superintendent Minion, said the target of the shooting was apparently Quangco and the attack was related to his job as a law enforcer.

He ordered Sr. Supt. Robert Po, city police chief, to conduct a thorough probe of the killing of the two persons and slay attempt on the law enforcer.

"SPO3 Quangco is reassigned to Manila. He had just come home when the shooting occurred. The motive could be related to his work while he was assigned here," Serapio quoted Minion’s report.

San Isidro police reported that the attack occurred early evening last Tuesday at the carenderia and videoke-pub house owned by Arnel Senosa, while the three victims were taking their dinner.

The assailants hid in a dark area near the videoke house and opened fire on the three.

A neighbor identified as Wilfredo Gonzaga told police investigators that the incident happened so fast that while the three were having dinner suddenly gun bursts rang out.

Both Laberoda and Senosa were declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

Quangco was taken to the operating room and survived, but he was placed at the intensive care unit at the Mindanao Medical Center, some 50 meters from the crime scene.
