"The heart and soul of womanhood is fair play; you are not politicians nor priests, but in the midst of the political problems our nation is undergoing at present, you women can start bridging the gap through working together in a sports tournament," PSC Chairman William Ramirez stated.

Participating entries are from the PSC, Land Bank, Local Water Utilities Administration, National Transmission Corporation, Philippine Ports Authority, National Food Authority, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, Philippine National Police, University of Santo Tomas, Philippine Tourism Authority and Philippine Postal Corporation.

PSC Commissioner and Chairperson for Women in Sports 2008 Jose Mundo, added, this is merely the beginning as we have been mandated by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to widen the advocacy’s scope and to reach out to more Filipino women across the country."

After highlighting the "ILO investment and encouragement for women at work, as well as the strong impact of women both in family and in sports, the Games were declared open by Ms. Junko Nakayama, Specialist of the ILO SubRegional Office for AsiaPacific.

The month-long activities will include exhibition games in boxing and taekwondo and bowling competition at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

The culminating activity is the PSC-Milo Women’s Marathon featuring 5km and 10km open races on 29 March 2008, Saturday to cover the Quirino Grandstand — Roxas Boulevard Route.
