IMUS, Cavite – The bodies of two men, believed to be victims of "salvaging" (summary execution), were found on an irrigation road in Baragay Alapan, this town the other day.
Supt. Ulysses G. Cruz, this town’s police chief, said one of the victims was identified though his voter’s ID and driver’s license as Eduardo Capalad y Melencio, 38, of 188 Niugan, Angat, Bulacan.
The other victim was not identified. He was describd as between 30 and 35 years old, five feet and nine inches tall and wearing a pair of maong pants, black T-shirt and yellow rubber shoes.
An autopsy conducted by police Scene of the Crime Office showed that Capalad died of multiple bullet wounds in the head, while the unidentified victim had multiple bullet wounds in the body.
Cruz said that before the discovery of the victim’s bodies at about 7:30 a.m., residents of Alapan 2-B heard several gunshots coming from the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) road near the Imus-Kawit boundary.
Investigators believed that the two were abducted somewhere and brought to an isolated place where they were executed.
Police investigators found four shells of 9mm bullets at the place where the bodies were found.
