Through its agribusiness arms San Miguel Foods, Inc. (SMFI) and San Miguel Animal Health Care (SM-AHC), San Miguel provided support to the recently conducted 75th PVMA Convention and Scientific Conference held in Boracay, and the 2nd INAHGEN 2008: The Asean Farmers Congress held at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

"Our participation in events like these is our way of expressing our support to all the veterinarians in the country. At the same time, we want to take advantage of the opportunity to offer them our quality medications for livestock and feeds which actually go hand in hand with our B-Meg Feeds products," said Reena Dimaculangan del Mundo, assistant product manager for SM-AHC.

At the 75th PVMA Convention and Scientific Conference spearheaded by the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association, veterinarians from all over the country gathered to discuss the latest breakthroughs and technologies in veterinary medicine.

Apart from the booth exhibit which showcased various animal health care products of SM-AHC, the company, through SMFI’s Veterinary Services Manager, Dr. Eugene Mende, also conducted a technical session where he presented a scientific paper on the potentials and limitations of using Philippine herbs in vaccination for a swine disease called Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV).

The convention, organized by the Philippine Veterinary Drug Association and Philippine Swine Industry Research Foundation, Inc., is the biggest livestock marketing, scientific and academic exhibition in the country.
