It’s Pay Back Time!
DJ Mojo Jojo
For those familiar with the saying "Good Times!" you know that this is the mantra of yours truly with DJ Mo Twister and Grace Lee as we perk up the radio-waves each and every weekday morning via Magic 89.9 and its Killerbee affiliates.
A nationwide sensation, Good Times has enjoyed much success as the most listened to FM pop morning show and is bringing its brand of tongue-in-cheek conversation and humor to television as well.
Joined by the beautiful VJ/DJ Andrea Manzano (better known as "Andi9") and the youngest DJ in Philippine history, Miguel Sarne, the Good Times crew recently took over the Central Plaza of Eastwood City for a weekend event like no other. Celebrating the success of our radio and television endeavors, the event which was dubbed "Pay Back" was our way of giving back to fans for helping us get to where we are.
The Good Times DJ’s, together with the other Magic 89.9 jocks, put on a two-day spectacle like no other. With free booths and musical performances, party-goers lived it up to the max with their favorite radio/television personalities.
Korean sensation Grace Lee cooked some dishes from her homeland to give people a delectable taste of her culture. On the menu were Chapche and Bulgogi as well as the Korean delicacy of stewed caterpillar cocoons. The sporty Andi-9 challenged listeners to a basketball shootout while in my booth, I goaded brave souls try their luck on a mechanical bull as part of my Brokeback Mountain contest. Mo Twister stole the show, however, as fans got the opportunity to exact their revenge on the top radio host everyone loves to hate by dousing him with condoms filled with water!
Performers for the weekend event included Imago, Callalilly, Sugarfree, Barbie Almalbis and everyone’s favorite, Bamboo! Also on hand to show their support were the Artic Vodka Bikini Girls as well as gutsy FHM Models.
Aside from the above, Good Timers also got to test-ride the newest bikes from Yamaha Motor Philippines. With a track set up in Eastwood City’s elliptical road, it was a hands-on experience for motorcyclists and those eager to try the models for themselves. A brand new Yamaha Mio Soul was even given away by the Good Times crew to the most daring fan of the show! Other prizes included; mp3 players and videoke machines from Xtreme Magic Sing, Boracay Trips care of SEAIR, Weekend stays at Anilao’s Monte Carlo Dive Resort and Hotel, swag from Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Dairy Queen, and Spa Parties courtesy of Orange Home Spa at 723-7714.
Good Times broadcasts worldwide via the web at weekday mornings. And the television show can be caught (soon to be its 2nd season) on Tuesday nights on Studio 23 at 11 o’clock!
