Hot property Anne Curtis is the toast of tinseltown nowadays after the huge success of her movie with screen idol, Aga Muhlach.

The beautiful actress is scheduled to do "Dyosa" a fantasy TV series with her in the title role.

Anne is raring to do more daring "darker" roles. She explained: "When you go far from your comfort zone, challenging yun at iba siya," she said, referring to those characters that made Angelina Jolie an Oscar winner in "Girl, Interrupted" and likewise Charlize Theron in "Monsters."

She expressed amusement at what Johnny Depp is doing, taking on dark, meatier roles like what he did as Sweeney Todd and Jack Sparrow. "I want to do something challenging like such character roles. But I don’t think the Philippine audience is ready for that yet."

In a press statement, Anne said of her recent big screen victory, "I’m so proud that fans and critics have received the movie well." The film "When Love Begins" earned around P50 million in its first days and considering it pitted against Hollywood biggies "Iron Man" and "Forbidden Kingdom."

In "Dyosa", Anne will play three characters in the form of a centaur, eagle, and mermaid. It is said that the series will be part-fiction-part Pinoy mythology in that a connection with powerful folklore figures Mariang Sinukuan and Bernardo Carpio is established.

The Tv series will pair Anne with Luis Manzano, Sam Milby and Zanjoe Marudo.

For her success and the promises awaiting her, Anne, who signed a three-year extension contract with the Viva management, will be vacationing abroad for a break. She said that breaks after work inspire her much in fulfilling her next projects.
