Uninterruptible power supply giant APC-MGE bared that it is set to release new UPS and power solutions for local enterprises wanting to have ‘green’ solutions for their power requirements.
The company said the upcoming products will adhere to new standards and new technologies that promote environment-friendly features.
According to the company, adhering to these standards mean the new products will have features such as higher efficiency, intelligent voltage systems, and low heat emissions.
Pascal Bodin, APC–MGE enterprise and systems business development manager for ASEAN said beginning with the MGE Galaxy 7000 series, all APC products will now have eco-friendly features.
Bodin said aside from the recyclable materials, PAC products will integrate "intelligent" voltage requirement, which the executive added, allows a power supply unit to get only the required voltage from a typical power supply.
"In this case, there will be no wastage of power," the executive said, adding that this is one way of conserving power.
Bodin said starting with the MGE Galaxy 7000 set for release in July, all future products will have all these features.
Currently, there has been a global movement to go green, or more environment-friendly products and services, with technology and manufacturing companies, notorious for churning out tons and tons of industrial wastes, now offering their respective green intitiatives.
Almost all companies have bared plans to go green, and awareness to these initiatives has swung to unprecented levels.
Bodin said APC-MGE is no exception
The executive said "the MGE Galaxy 7000 will be a good product for companies that are going green themselves."
Further, Bodin also said the new product also features a "transformerless" UPS topology, built-in static switch and maintenance by-pass and power ‘correction’ features.
The new products will be smaller than standard power systems for corporate users, Bodin said, adding that the form factor allows for "back-to-back" and "back-to-wall" configurations.
Bodin said the Galaxy 7000 will be exclusively marketed for large enterprise users, and data centers.
The executive did not disclose pricing for the Galaxy 7000.
Didier Chalumeau APC–MGE Philippines country chief meanwhile said that the company has "exceeded" its yearly target, since APC and MGE merged into a US$ 3.3-billion-company in February 2007.
The new company has since then been known as the Critical Power and Cooling Services unit of industrial giant Schneider Electric.
APC-MGE merged in February, after Schneider Electric, the mother company of MGE, bought APC for .5 billion.
