SMART Gold subscribers are off to a great summer, as they travel to some of the most picturesque destinations in the Philippines and learn the art of photography from award-winning lensmen George Tapan, Wig Tysmans, and Jay Javier.
Smart Communications, Inc. (SMART), the country’s leading wireless services provider, partners with Colors Philippine Travel Guide, organizer of the Travel Photography Workshop series with Tapan in Batanes, Tysmans in Palawan and Boracay, and Javier in Camiguin.
In its bid to reward its loyal postpaid individual subscribers with exciting treats that cater to their lifestyle, SMART gives them 10% discount on the registration fee for the workshop. All workshop participants will also receive a free Samsung S760 7.2-megapixel camera.
The first leg of the series was done in the last weekend of March, conducted by ace photographer George Tapan in scenic Batanes.
Dr. Gene Gomez, a cardiologist at the Asian Hospital and a photography enthusiast, joined the Batanes leg of the workshop after receiving the invitational SMS from SMART. "We’ve thought of joining other workshops before, but we always found them to be too expensive. When I received the SMS through my SMART Gold subscription, the 10% discount and the free camera were enough to convince me to try this one out," shares Dr. Gomez, who registered his wife and son in the workshop, too.
"We learned a lot and I’m proud to say that we learned from the master," says Dr. Gomez’ wife, Dr. Marlyn Gomez, an OB-Gynecologist from the same hospital.
"I found about the photography workshop when I got the SMS from SMART. I have always been curious about Batanes and I thought that it was the perfect opportunity to go. I immediately signed up! Another accomplished lensman, Wig Tysmans, conducted the workshop on April 11-14 in Palawan and in Boracay will be on May 9-12. Jay Javier conducted the workshop in Camiguin on May 1-4.
