Close to 14,000 new members registered on eBay.ph in April to be part of the popular Pinoy online shopping destination’s Summer Fiesta celebration held on April 26 at Forum Robinsons, the metro’s new digital lifestyle hub.
As part of the Summer Fiesta event, Pinoy mallgoers had the unique opportunity to register on eBay.ph aboard a WiFi-enabled eBay jeepney decked with wireless laptops. Free fiesta goodie bags including Netopia Click Club membership cards, personalized gifts from Jolina, Krispy Kreme food vouchers and special eBay premiums were also given away to the first 2,000 who registered on eBay.ph between April 12 to 26.
Throughout the day, eBay experts were on ground to provide useful tips on how Pinoys can find great bargains or sell on the world’s leading online marketplace.
Other exciting activities included an exclusive concert performance by Jolina Magdangal, eBay’s Style Ambassador in the Philippines, an Ati-Atihan performance, a marching band with baton-twirling majorettes and many more.
According to a January 2008 AC Nielsen Research study, Filipinos are frequent visitors on eBay; 39 percent visit eBay everyday and 80 percent visit at least once a week. On average, Pinoy users spend approximately one third of their time online browsing for goods and services, and more than 84 percent of their online spend occurs on eBay.
"The eBay.ph community is one of the most active and vibrant in the region. This summer fiesta was organized to show our appreciation for their support and contribution in making eBay the top online shopping destination in the Philippines. We look forward to more fun activities planned in 2008," said Oliver Rippel, Director at eBay.
