spacer

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (GST), a worldwide leading hard disk drive manufacturer, recently held a film showing and feeding project for 50 indigent students from Barangay Dila Elementary School, in Sta. Rosa Laguna.

The activity, which aimed to educate and delight students with an afternoon of food and fun, was made even more memorable with the addition of children’s games and the visit of a mascot. Kanji Nakao, president of Hitachi GST’s Philippine facility joined executives and managers in spending time with the underprivileged kids. Also present during the event were the principal of Barangay Dila Elementary School, Caridad C. Licmuan, and its teachers.

The film showing and feeding activity was held in line with the company’s objectives of supporting less fortunate people in their surrounding communities. The event was sponsored by the Hitachi Outreach Program (HOP), with the cooperation of CFC- Global Golden City Chapter.

Composed of employee volunteers from Hitachi GST, HOP is a non-government organization that believes in initiating and supporting local projects for the benefit of the community it serves.
