Gov’t marks CARP 20th year, holds 7th Agraryo Trade Fair

The Department of Agrarian Reform, in celebration of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program’s 20th anniversary will be holding the 7th Agraryo Trade Fair at the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall from June 4 to 8.

With the theme "Celebrating Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries’ (ARBs) Growth and Success," the trade fair will showcase their various produce from all over the country to showcase the success stories brought about by land reform.

"The Agraryo trade fair will showcase Filipino creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, as well as the best micro-enterprises of ARBs from all over the country.

Among the products on display include fresh and processed poultry and meat products, food ingredients and additives, beverages, vegetable products, delicacies, jams, candles, packaging materials, furniture, handicrafts, candles, novelty items and organic products.

The women ARBs of Tarlac will showcase once again the banner product of the province—the HRT Victoria’s Peanut Butter, which has won awards in previous DAR trade fairs. The group will also display other award-winning produce such as corn crunch, crochetted apparels, roasted peanuts, salted eggs, slippers and pickled papaya.

The Kababaihan Sa Kaunlaran (KASAKA) Cooperative from Aliaga, Nueva Ecija has cooked up a unique and healthy variety of pancit canton noodles made up of squash, saluyot and carrot.

From Mindanao, there will be the coco coir production of the Fleicher Estate Integrated Multi-Purpose Cooperative (EIMCO) from Maitum, Sarangani, which can be expanded into other products like coco fiber twines or coir yam, doormats, bionets or geotextiles, bags and hats, and plant holder, among others.

There is also the Papaya Milk Soap project of the Aleosan ARC in Cotabato province. Funded by the local government, its few months of operation has yielded 150 to 200% return on investment, and can produce 1,000 soap bars monthly.

The fair will also feature cooking demonstrations, book and product launchings, competitions, photo exhibit of DAR programs and projects, and seminars on product development and market trends.

Agraryo Trade Fair is held in partnership with the Philippine Fruit and Vegetables Industries, and supported by San Miguel Corporation, Purefoods and SM Megamall, the Bureau of Agricultural Research, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Tourism, the Department Trade and Industry, Land Bank of the Philippines and the National Historical Institute.
