LT’s new show on Kapamilya to replace ‘Boy & Kris’?
spacer

Shirley Matias-Pizarro

We heard from the grapevine that sooner, not later, Ms. Lorna Tolentino might just cease to be a Kapuso.

Lorna, we heard, is not bent on resuming her hosting chores at "Startalk" every Saturday since her husband’s death. The beautiful widow is reportedly being offered by ABS-CBN with a morning show that will cater to housewives which she finds more palatable.

The source said the new morning show will have format of the defunct "Teysi ng Tahanan" which will be called "LT ng Tahanan."

LT likes the concept about 80%, the informant claimed, but added that there is nothing concrete or on paper at this point between her and ABS-CBN management.

LT’s manager Tita Lolit Solis would have wanted her to stay with GMA-7 (where she is also a contract artist) but as the supportive "nanay" that she is, she has been giving her ward the freedom to choose what the actress feels is best for her.

The offer though is still on the negotiating table, the source told us, "but if ever it pushes through, LT might just be a Kapamilya come September, 2008."

Let’s wait and see.

Billy Crawford endorses Belo

There are just so many things going on in the life and career of Billy Crawford nowadays.

When he came back from his brief US sojourn, Billy made a splash upon his return when he suddenly transferred toABS-CBN, leaving the Kapuso wondering. He now hosts "Pinoy Dream Academy." Billy, however, confessed that he considers himself more of a singer and dancer than a host.

He also surprised a lot when he was all suddenly being represented by Arnold Vegafria, (whom he calls his agent) instead of being with his long-time mentor, manager and friend Raul Laurente. To the queries, Billy simply said, "I, myself, was surprised at the swift turn of events. It just happened this way."

Billy says Arnold became his agent after he initiated the deals with Endemol and ABS-CBN. "I did work for Endemol back in Europe once before. That was the starting point. That’s why they thought of me hosting PDA for ABS-CBN. It was Arnold who brokered it," he explained refusing to elaborate on the issues earlier reported between him, Raul and Kuya Germs (German Moreno).

Billy, by the way, is now the latest endorser of Belo Medical Group. During the press conference, Billy signed the contract with Dra. Vicki Belo who said she tapped Billy because their thrust is to go international.

Dr. Belo said, "We are opening in Dubai and in Beverly Hills soon and we know that Billy is such a huge star in Europe. It was in Paris where I saw his big billboard at the Virgin Store once for his best-selling album there. That’s why I go really excited for him. We recognize his achievements internationally that’s why we felt it will be a good partnership since our clinic is going international."

Billy said he has been trying out the Skin Master treatment to reduce the dark circles around his eyes. "The procedure promotes lymphatic drainage and that’s how it is abe to achieve the desired effect."

Dr. Belo, however said, "Billy doesn’t need lipo. He has a beautiful body but we want to make him look his best. I’m thinking of doing hair transplant on him because I notice that’s where he needs help. Pretty soon, we will come up with billboards of Billy as the ultimate hunk."

With regards to Billy’s very visible tattoos on his arms and shoulders, Dr. Belo said they can remove the tattoos in black ink easily but not the ones in red and green. But Billy might not be even contemplating on having them removed. "They represent my life. If you look at my tattoos, you’ll see everything that’s important to me is symbolized there. My roots are there," he said.

The reason why Billy sports that all too familiar signature goatee is not entirely just for his own style. Billy said he needed to let the beard grow a little bit just so he won’t look too young.

"It was a suggestion given to me by my album producers in the UK when we released my album there. They said I needed to look a little bit more mature. I decided to keep it because I really look like a 13-year-old without it," the 28-year-old European superstar said.
