SOMEWHERE OVER THE PACIFIC OCEAN — Since its launching on Eat Bulaga last March 31 this year, I’ve hosted "Sa Pula, Sa Puti" only once.
"Sa pula, sa puti, sino ang magwawagi
Sa pula, sa puti, sino ang uuwing nakangiti
Sa pula, sa puti, sa bungal o bungi
Sa sakang o piki, sa pula o sa puti
Sa pupupupupupu … lalalalalala
Sa pupupupupupu … tetetetetete."
It has always been handled by all the members of the Dabarkads except me. And to think, I even wrote and performed its theme song. And besides, whenever "Sa Pula, Sa Puti" is on air, that’s my only chance to prepare and check on our "Wala ‘Yan Sa Lolo Ko" routine for our "Ang Joke Joke" segment in case it needs some adjustments, corrections or changes.
But last July 9, a Wednesday, while we were taping an episode of "Eat Bulaga" to be aired in the stretch of our absence while in Los Angeles, I realized that I’ve been missing a lot by not watching "Sa Pula, Sa Puti" regularly. I’ve always thought that the only source of instant and surprise entertainment doing the show is from the Q&A portion of "Itaktak Mo O Tatakbo." These, of course, are what I call "glorious glitches" or "entertaining errors" which I likewise share with my readers. I even devised a name for these "don’t-know-that-they-are-funny" contestants — errorists.
Yes, I was wrong. It totally slipped my consciousness that "Sa Pula, Sa Puti" has its own Q&A; and it even has a little talent portion in it. That’s why, while doing this particular taping, and in a relaxed atmosphere, I had the luxury of watching this segment in full. Aba, at ang swerte ko naman! I was in luck to witness some of the hearty attacks of their own army of errorists. Here’s a sample —
HOST (to the Red Team): Sa teleseryeng "Marimar," sino ang nag-boses o nag-dub sa asong si Folgoso sa local version nito?
WHITE TEAM CONTESTANT: Ano ho uli ‘yung tanong?
WHITE TEAM CONTESTANT: Scooby Doo?
Ngek!
And to complete your day, here’s a new entry for " Itaktak Mo O Tatakbo" —
CONTESTANT: M? Ahh … Mang … Mang … Mga Ita!
(Mangyan)

And here’s our Tough Hit for this week. Again, my apologies to The Beatles. This is entitled "In My Knife" sang to the tune of " In My Life" —
THERE ARE FACES IN SHOWBUSINESS
SOME HAD LITTLE REPAIRS
AND SOME WERE CHANGED
SOME WOULD LIKE TO LOOK MUCH YOUNGER
SOME HAD AGED BUT STILL
THEY LOOK THE SAME
ALL THESE FACES HAVE THEIR TORMENTS
THEY HAVE TO GO THROUGH
TO LOOK BEAUTIFUL
SOME LOOKS DEAD BUT THEY SURE ARE LIVING
OF COURSE THEIR DOCTOR’S LIFE —
COMFORTABLE.

Here’s another "Facial Musical" this time to the tune of "Balatkayo." My apologies to Tito Sotto and myself.
BANAT NA BA KAYO, KAYO’Y RETOKADO
LAHAT SA MUKHA N’YOY HINDI TOTOO
KAYO’Y NAKANGITI, KAHIT NA AYAW MO
DILAT, PERO NATUTULOG KAYO
WALANG PAKIRAMDAM
HANGGANG BATOK N’YO
ANG TULIS NA NG ILONG MO
AT ANG PINTOG-PINTOG
AT ANG KAPAL NA NG LABI MO
PWEDE NANG TAMBULIN ANG FACE KASI
BANAT KAYO.
