The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) will hold a two-day computer-based Walk-in Examinations for Marine Engineer Officers on July 24-25 at the Association of Marine Officers and Seafarers Union of the Philippines (AMOSUP) Center in Intramuros, Manila.
This was announced yesterday by Commissioner Ruth Raña Padilla, officer in charge of the commission.
The walk-in examinations will start at 8 a.m. Examinees should bring their notice of admission and should register at least 30 minutes before the examination time.
PRC officials said the online examination is a pilot-testing project of the licensure agency to ensure the speedy licensing of professionals. Once the Walk- in Examination Systems (WES) become successful, applications for the licensure examinations can be downloaded online or through one-stop shops that will be set up in shopping malls.
The PRC has conducted exams at WES facilities on the third floor of its central office in P. Paredes Street, Sampaloc, Manila. It is also on its experimental stage in the cities of Cebu and Iloilo, officials said.
