The Family Rosary Crusade (FRC) urged yesterday the faithful to line the streets tomorrow on the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and pray the rosary for peace in Mindanao.
The prayer movement asked families, communities, and Marian devotees organizations to go out of their homes and offices at 6 p.m. and pray the rosary.
"At 6 p.m., after the Angelus, all participants are asked to go out of their homes and line up on the street, holding rosaries and candles," Fr. James B. Reuter of the National Office of Mass Media (NOMM) said.
Once the candles are all lit, he said, a leader will begin the recitation of the rosary for peace in Mindanao.
"Peace in Mindanao is certainly one of our country’s major problems. And nothing else has worked. Calling on God is a beautiful thing, which every Filipino can do, at no cost," said Reuter.
The Ministry for Family and Life of the Archdiocese of Manila, meantime, will launch tomorrow an educational seven 7-DVD series entitled "Subtle Attacks Against the Family Explained" (SAFE) at the Villa Immaculada in Intramuros, Manila.
The video-screening program is aimed to educate grassroot Catholics, students, teachers, catechists, and others on the dangers and immorality of measures proposed by Reproductive Health and Population Development Bill," Fr. Joel Jason, MFL chairman, said in an interview posted on the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) website.
Among the topics tackled by experts in the DVD series are Demography; New Age Spirituality; Sex Education; the Truth and Meaning of Human Sexuality"; "Violence and Pornography in the Mass Media; the Gospel of Life and Marriage," and "Family: God’s Plan."
