Elements of the Highway Patrol Group in Region 3 (HPG 3), formerly Regional Traffic Management Office 3 (RTMO3), under Senior Supt. Fernando S Villanueva, reported the other day the recovery of one stolen motor vehicle and the arrest of three suspected carnappers.
Colonel Villanueva reported that Restie Boy Pineda, together with Bernadette G. Lorenzo, reported to his office that Toyota Fortuner vehicle with plate number ZCZ917 was carnapped at gunpoint by three unidentified armed men while it was parked at the service bay of the Total gasoline station located on the Olongapo-Gapan Road, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
The motor vehicle is registered in the name of Bernadette Lorenzo, who also owns the Total gasoline station where the motor vehicle was stolen.
Lorenzo said Restie Pineda, who is her nephew, owns the convinience store at the gasoline station and was the one using the motor vehicle when it was seized at gunpoint.
According to a report, he was about to open the Fortuner at around 1:30 a.m. to get something inside when three unidentified men armed with short firearms suddenly appeared and dragged him inside the vehicle and blindfolded him as one of the men took over the steering wheel and drove towards Apalit town via Macarthur Highway.
Pineda told investigators that he was dropped unharmed in Barangay Palapat, Hogonoy, Bulacan where he immediately sought assistance from the Hagonoy police.
Immediately, Villanueva radioed to all police stations to look for a white Toyota Fortuner vehicle with plate number ZCZ917.
