Nationwide assembly of villages on Saturday
Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Ronaldo V. Puno announced yesterday that the second synchronized assembly of the country’s 41,000 barangays (village) this year will be held on Saturday, Oct. 18, as mandated by the Local Government Code (LGC) of 1991 pursuant to Proclamation No. 342 declaring the last Saturday of March and the third Saturday of October of every year as Barangay Assembly Day.
SC dismisses motions filed by CA justices
The Supreme Court (SC) denied yesterday the motions filed by four Court of Appeals (CA) justices who were either admonished, reprimanded, or dismissed for irregularities and improprieties committed in the handling of the case between the Manila Electric Co.
