Julia Fordham in two Valentine concerts
Julia Fordham is set to headline two special concerts on her fourth visit to the country, starting with “Love Moves: Julia Fordham Live in Manila” to be staged tonight at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resort & Casino, featuring Richard Merk and sibling Rachel Anne Wolfe; followed by “Up Close and Personal” with Annie Brazil, set tomorrow, Feb. 15 at the Lobby Lounge of Edsa Shangri-La.
Proceeds of the back-to-back show will be donated to Habitat for Humanity Philippines and the Natasha Goulbourn Foundation, which is conducting trauma and healing sessions for “Yolanda” victims.
“When I saw on TV the unprecedented damage wrought on the city of Tacloban and its environs, it immediately came to my mind how I could possibly extend help, and here I am doing a concert for that purpose,” Julia said.
She has sold millions of records worldwide. Among her biggest hits is “Love Moves In Mysterious Ways,” which she promised to perform in the concerts along with “Where Does The Time Go?,” “I Can’t Help Myself,” “Love And Forgiveness,” “Someone To Watch Over Me,” and “Happy Ever After,” among others.
Julia said she never expected “Love Moves In Mysterious Ways” would turn her into a “celebrity.”
The show is supported by PLDT Telpad, McCormick, RCBC, For Victoria and Solaire Resort & Casino in cooperation with Astroplus, Philippine Concerts, among others.

Filipinos Are More Romantic – Jack Jones
“The Filipino audience is more romantic than any other audiences I had performed for.”
That is how Jack Jones described Pinoys during a recent interview, which coincides with his latest concert performance in the country slated today at the Manila Hotel, proceeds of which will benefit “Yolanda” victims. The concert will also be staged at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Feb. 15.
Jack, described as “the ultimate singing heartthrob of the past 50 years,” is expected to perform most of his memorable songs in the back-to-back concerts including, “What I Did For Love,” “Wives And Lovers,” “Where Love Has Gone,” and many more.
“I would love to include a Filipino song in my repertoire, if there’s one,” he said.
Jack rose to prominence in 1962 when he released “Lollipop And Roses,” his first hit. “I was still a young boy when I felt the passion for singing,” he said.
Jack, who is married for five years already, shared that “understanding” is key to a strong marital relationship.
“Jack Jones In A Valentine Concert,” is produced by Viva Live, Inc. and Redstone Media Productions. The concert series is supported by media partners PBO TV Channel, Viva TV, Manila Bulletin, Mellow 94.7, 105.1 Crossover, RJ 100 and the Outdoor Advertising Association of the Philippines. Tickets are available at Ticketnet and at Viva Concerts.

‘Picture! Picture!’ Rating Higher Than Rival
Ryan Agoncillo’s Saturday evening show “Picture! Picture!” has reportedly surpassed rival show “Bet On Your Baby,” hosted by his wife, Judy Ann Santos, ratings wise.
In a recent interview, Ryan stressed that appearing in a show airing on the same day and time was never an issue between him and Juday.
“It’s simply a job for the both of us – it’s work,” Ryan said, adding that he and Juday respect each other’s career.
While Juday has always said that Ryan helped hone her hosting skills, Ryan also said that his wife helped him a lot in terms of acting.
But Ryan insisted, “We don’t impose our opinions on each other’s performances, be it in terms of acting or hosting.”
The two-month old “Picture! Picture!” is now expected to run for another season.
Ryan credited the show’s staff for doing a good job. “We tape two shows every taping day (Tuesday afternoons) and everyone, including our celebrity guests, gets home by dinner time.”
Being an avid photographer and trivia buff himself, Ryan knew all along that the new concept of “Picture! Picture!” would click. And it did.
An original production by GMA Network, “Picture! Picture!” engages its players and viewers in a game of trivia, with questions based on a series of photographs.
By the way, one of these days, viewers just might see pictures from the Agoncillo family album as used in the show. Watch for it.
