K-pop acts among best-selling artists in Japan for first half of 2014

Japan’s Oricon chart has released the 50 best-selling singles, albums and music DVDs for the first half of 2014 and the lists include releases by Big Bang, TVXQ, 2PM, Super Junior, SHINee and Girls’ Generation.

In the top 50 singles, TVXQ’s “Hide & Seek/Something” ranked 26th with 119,291 copies sold, while Super Junior’s “Blue World” sold 77,026 copies to land at the 36th spot.

In the top 50 albums list, TVXQ’s “Tree” sold 263,080 copies to place sixth and Girls’ Generation’s “Love & Peace” album placed 14th with 170,898 copies sold.

2PM’s “Genesis of 2PM,” on the other hand, sold 72,008 copies to rank 28th. TVXQ’s “Tense” ranked 47th with 50,685 copies sold.

Super Junior members Donghae and Eunhyuk’s Japanese debut “Ride Me” sold 50,152 to place 49th on the list.

In the top 50 music DVDs list, Big Bang’s “Big Bang Japan Dome Tour 2013-2014” ranked sixth with 81,047 copies sold. TVXQ’s “Tohoshinki Live Tour 2013: Time: Final in Nissan Stadium” ranked eight with 76,211 copies sold.

2PM’s ”Legend of 2PM in Tokyo Dome” ranked 23rd with 27,176 copies sold, while Super Junior’s “Super Junior World Tour Super Show 5 in Japan” ranked 25th with 26,460 in sales.

SHINee’s “Japan Arena Tour 2013: SHINee World Boys Meet U” ranked 33rd with 19,707 and KARA’s “KARA 2nd Japan Tour KARASIA” sold 13,694 copies to place 40th.

Big Bang’s T.O.P’s “Doom Dada Japan Special Edition” place 44th with 13,073 copies.
