‘Kahit Nasaan Ka Man’ premieres tonight on GMA Network
A musical drama series titled “Kahit Nasaan Ka Man,” featuring the new tandem of Julie Anne San Jose and Kristoffer Martin, with Lucho Ayala, will premiere today on GMA Telebabad. It replaces “Anna Karenina.”
Julie Anne, Kristoffer and Lucho mark their first lead roles in a primetime series. Completing the cast are notable actors and actresses Eula Valdez, Ms. Tessie Tomas, Michael de Mesa, Rita Avila, Yayo Aguila, and Ronaldo Valdez.
The series focuses on the journey of Leandro (Kristoffer Martin) and Pauline (Julie Anne San Jose) in fulfilling their dreams despite poverty and disability. As their love for music brings them together, family conflict will surface and try to break them apart.
After Leandro’s father was shot during a demolition, his mother Delia (Rita Avila) abandons him in a waiting shed. What is left with Leandro is his father’s guitar which he eventually sells to survive. He soon learns to steal and one day after he and his friends snatch a purse, Leandro goes to hide in the backyard of the Gomez family. There, he hears the voice of a talented blind lady named Pauline. Sharing the same passion for music, Leandro decides to secretly visit her every night but Pauline’s Lolo Tino (Ronaldo Valdez) and Tita Medel (Yayo Aguila) catches him and sends him to an orphanage. When he gets the chance to escape, he comes back to Pauline’s house only to find out that she has left.
With nowhere to go, Leandro decides to end his life but Theresa (Eula Valdez) saves him. With the help of her mother, Lola Corazon (Tessie Tomas), Theresa is able to send Leandro to school and help him to graduate as valedictorian in high school.
During the graduation ceremony, Leandro hears a familiar voice which happens to be John’s (Lucho Ayala) best friend – Pauline. After her successful corneal transplant, Pauline is now a popular recording artist.
Gil Tejada, who directs “Kahit Nasaan Ka Man” said “something different ang series na ito. This is the launch of Julie Anne as an actress, and it is the first time that I am doing a musical drama. So this is really a challenge for me.”
