Put your imagination to work in the 2014 Manila Bulletin Sketch Fest!

The Sketch Fest is an annual activity organized by Manila Bulletin in partnership with Ayala to celebrate the Philippines’ Independence Day. Manila Bulletin sees the Sketch Fest as a platform to showcase Filipino creativity through dry medium artworks.

Previous themes of the Manila Bulletin Sketch Fest had participants crafting artworks related to “Colors of Freedom”, “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” and “My Flag, My Country”. This year, contestants’ artistic minds will be tested through the theme, “Filipino Ingenuity: Made in the Philippines”.

So what are you waiting for, ready, get set, DRAW! Here’s how to join:



1. Pre- event registration:

a. Online Registration:

  • Participants may pre-register at
  • Print out the pre-registration ticket and present it to the registration booth together with a valid I. D.

b. Express Pass

  • Check the Manila Bulletin to avail of your Express Pass
  • Cut out the Express Pass and fill in the necessary information
  • Present the Express Pass coupon at the registration booth together with a valid I. D.

Note: Registration is only until 12 nn of June 14, 2014.

2. On-site registration:

  • Contestants may also register on the day of the event. 100 slots per category will be open to on-site registrants.
  • On-site registration will start at 8 am until 12nn of June 14, 2014.
  • A valid I.D. is required upon registration.




  • Manila Bulletin shall provide the official sketching paper for all categories upon registration.
  • All participants should bring their own sketching and drawing tools for dry media only. Painting is not allowed. Only Category 1 participants shall be provided with pencils and crayons.
  • Participants must work on their drawings only within the designated event area at the Ayala Triangle Gardens.
  • All artworks submitted for judging shall become the property of the Manila Bulletin, which is in no obligation to return them. Only entries drawn/ sketched during the contest day shall be considered valid entries.
  • Three (3) winners per category will be chosen plus the winners of Makati Choice Award and Manila Bulletin Choice Award. These winners shall be announced on the day of the event.
  • All entries must be submitted by 2:00 pm.
  • Employees of the Manila Bulletin and Ayala Land up to the second degree of consanguinity are not eligible to enter the contest.


Category 1: Kiddie: Children 12 years old and below

Category 2: Junior: 13-18 years old

Category 3: Senior: 19 years old and above
